Thanks to all participants of this year's Art Fair (2024)

Artists, musicians, attendees in general, volunteers and helpers. Also thanks to each Oak Street Art members
(Cathy, Sue, Madeline, Stephanie, Darby, and Luca), they tirelessly worked on details to have a day of cultural exchange between the makers and the community. Oak Street Art Collective is very grateful to John A. Logan Museum for the generous support they provide us during the fair, and throughout the year.
As we say "rain or shine", this year we have both in one day, and we were prepared.
See you next year, on April 26th, 2025.

Call for submission

Oak Street Art is now accepting new applications for our April 2024 art fair! For 8 years the art fair has been held in the Logan Historic Arts Neighborhood in Murphysboro, IL. The fair features over 30 artists, live music, children’s activity tent, food trucks and wine. It’s hosted by Oak Street Art, a six member local artist’s collective.

The Oak Street Art Fair is a juried art fair open to artists selling original artwork.
To apply please send 3 images of your work and a 3-5 sentence artist’s statement to [email protected]. Images should be no bigger than 4mb. Submission deadline is April 1, 2024. Artist’s applications will be judged by the Oak Street Art group. Artwork will be judged on originality and execution, and considered alongside the number of other artists working in that medium already exhibiting at the fair. Applications are juried as they are received. Artists are welcome to apply in more than one medium, but should submit a separate set of images for each medium.

Thanks: Oak Street Art Fair 2023

Picture
Artists and craftspeople made the event a successful exchange, on the street, between the works and the community. We, the collective Oak Street Art, appreciate all participating artists as well as all visitors. Gifted musicians shared their talents, and thanks to all the support and volunteering we received from family members, friends, the Logan Museum, and the city of Murphysboro.
We can say that on Saturday 29 we had a great 7th edition of our Oak Street Art Fair 2023. Thank you!

Delicious food at the fair by Shish Sweet Kabob
To the Historic Logan Neighborhood
Dear Neighbors,

You and your family are cordially invited to attend and enjoy the 7th Annual Oak Street Art Fair April 29, 2023
(10 to 5 pm).

More than 30 artists will show their works. There will be music, children’s tent, food trucks, beer and wine for sale.

For neighbors on 16th St, and Oak St. there will be some inconveniences because these streets will be close to traffic. We would appreciate your understanding. Thank you.
 Regards,
Oak Street Art Collective (Sue, Cathy, Stephanie, Darby, Madeline and Luca)

Highlights (2018)

  • Since 2016, we have sponsored the annual Oak Street Fine Arts Fair, closing the brick street in the John A. Logan Historic District for an all-day party!
  • Again in 2018, we had live music, food, and a great variety of exhibiting artists working in media such as ceramics, printmaking, painting, glass, metals-jewelry, sculpture, weaving, photography, leather, drawing, stained glass, and more.
  • Children's Area with hands-on art between 11 and 3! We had activities scheduled at 11, 12, 1, and 2, with an ongoing Children's Mural.
  • Selfie Station outdoor photo studio with costumes and props! Post your selfie on social media using #oakstreetartgroup.
  • 32 artists + 7 musicians. See poster below for the full lineup.
  • Our first year, over 650 visitors signed in at the fair, and we had a nice crowd again this year.

All-Day Concert on the Oak Leaf Stage (2018)

Picture
We were thrilled to have an incredible lineup of musicians taking the Oak Leaf Stage for our 2018 fair:
  • 10:00 Kevin Lucas
  • 11:00 Mike Wright
  • 12:00 Beth Davis & Dakota Cummins
  • 1:00 Them Two
  • 2:00 Kathleen Shaffner
  • 3:00 Maria Johnson
  • 4:00 Bill Carr
Thanks to everyone who joined us for seven great sets of live music, 10 to 5, on the Oak St. Stage (at Oak & 16th).

 Hands-On Art for Children (2018)

In 2018, we expanded our offerings for kids. For several hours during the fair, volunteers led structured art activities for children. Between 11 and 3, we also had drawing supplies available for kids to add to the ongoing Children's Mural.
