Meagan Majors isa self-taught water media artist based in Southern Illinois. She uses bold, complimentary colors to create her whimsical watercolor and gouache paintings, which often feature natural elements including water, vast horizons, and astronomical events. Originally from Kentucky, Meagan grew up playing outside from dawn till dusk and experiencing the wonders of nature on a daily basis. Her intention with her art is for viewers to experience the same awe that she feels when she is in nature, whether it’s watching the sun dip over the horizon on the ocean, observing a total solar eclipse, or seeing a flock of birds fly across the sky during a sunrise kayak. She uses her art celebrate the natural beauty that surrounds us here in the Shawnee National Forest and beyond. Meagan works primarily in water media but enjoys stretching her skills by occasionally testing into new mediums.
